Katie Melua 凱特瑪露
英國歌手，1984年出生，俄國血統，北愛爾蘭長大，精通三國語言。
成名的早，19歲時首張專輯便登上英國排行榜冠軍，曲風為藍調、爵士，台灣對她的印象可能是電影「波特小姐 彼得兔的誕生」主曲 When You Taught Me How to Dance 。
黑捲髮，皮膚與眼睛都偏暗色，五官甜美(有點像台灣原住民)。
矮個子美女，身高才157，這麼嬌小唱起歌來卻這麼清澈帶有穿透力。
尤其當她貼近麥克風唱歌，那菩薩垂眉的樣子在歌聲渲染下使人神搖意奪、為她著迷。
我最喜歡她的兩首歌，The Walls Of The World、I Will Be There。

在凱特藍調歌聲中幾幕簡單的光影美景跟主角日常影像下，彷彿餘音穿梭在各地，穿梭在彼此之間，雅俗共賞，尤其那句Bring it out into the light~ write it on the walls of the world 時凱特的樣子使我想起一位原住民前同事，而這首歌名 wall of world 也浮想起學生時讀的一本書，「wall to wall 心牆」，使我當下有很強的共鳴感，這幾天聽了無數遍直到歌詩跟旋律都深刻在腦中，這是我最喜歡的一首歌之一。
PS:(我不確定這是藍調還是爵士，我外行人)
wall to wall 心牆:瑪莉莫里斯的書，1986年部分國家還處於封閉的年代，作者搭乘西伯利亞鐵路開啟一趟尋根旅程，途中貫穿中國、蒙古、蘇聯、最後抵達德國，從中國的城牆看到柏林圍牆一路的心路歷程，在這尋親之旅中她自已也孕育了下一代。
這書激發我想搭西伯利亞鐵路的想法。

我喜歡的純傳統樂器音樂都是從電影來，例如:大地英豪Promentory，遠離非洲 I Had A Farm In Africa， 情書 Remedios ，有著電影的印象下才覺得好聽，要我單聽交響樂器我會感到苦悶。
這首歌前1分多鐘都是純樂器，算是鋪陳，隨著吉他聲出現後才帶入主角的歌聲。
鋪陳，再帶入凱特聲音，這段意外的好聽。
另一個意外是最後那個長音，一定要聽完!!

凱特在這首歌裡聲音溫潤清澈，但句句尾音卻又拉高，嘹亮高昂，帶有穿透力。聽她的尾音真的是種享受，跟樂器的起伏相配适宜，對母親的愛意完全傾露，彷佛句句皆附有感染力，沁人肺腑。
我決定等五月要將這首歌跟禮物一起送給母親。
不只這兩首，凱特瑪露還有更多好歌等著我去挖掘。
